VISION

A proactive and people-centered Public Information Office that upholds transparency, accountability, and inclusivity—building a community where every citizen of Quezon is informed, engaged, and empowered to actively participate in local governance and sustainable development.

MISSION

To ensure effective, timely, and accurate flow of information between the local government and its stakeholders by:

  • Promoting transparent governance through open communication channels.
  • Empowering citizens with knowledge of programs, policies, and services.
  • Strengthening partnerships with media, civil society, and the private sector.
  • Utilizing innovative platforms and technologies for wider public reach.
  • Upholding ethical standards in communication and information management.

MANDATE/ CORE FUNCTIONS

In accordance with the role of Public Information Offices in Local Government Units, the PIO shall:

  1. Information Management – Develop and implement communication strategies that enhance public awareness of government initiatives.
  2. Media and Public Relations – Act as spokesperson and liaison with media organizations; prepare press releases, advisories, and official statements.
  3. Content Creation and Documentation – Produce information, education, and communication (IEC) materials in print, broadcast, and digital formats.
  4. Transparency and Governance Support – Disseminate information on policies, ordinances, budget utilization, and development programs.
  5. Community Engagement – Facilitate citizen participation through consultations, forums, feedback mechanisms, and social media interactions.
  6. Crisis and Risk Communication – Provide accurate, timely, and life-saving information during disasters, emergencies, and public health threats.
  7. Event Coverage and Promotion – Document and promote official activities, cultural heritage, and developmental milestones of the municipality.
  8. Capacity Building – Train municipal departments and barangays in effective communication practices.
  9. Research and Feedback – Gather public opinion and evaluate effectiveness of communication strategies to inform decision-making.
